AMD AMD · Semiconductors · Taipei, Taiwan · Engineering

This role is for a Power Test Engineer focused on PSU validation and test automation for server power platforms. It involves firmware validation, regression testing, hardware characterization, and automated test development. The role requires experience in power electronics testing, lab instrumentation, and automation scripting (Python, C#). While the company mentions AI and its own AI policy, this specific role is not directly involved in building or researching AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Plan and execute functional, stability, and regression testing for server PSUs (FW validation)
  2. Validate power architectures (Totem-Pole PFC, LLC, digital control loops, protections)
  3. Develop and maintain automated test systems (Chroma, Python, C#)
  4. Operate lab equipment: AC sources, loads, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMMs, thermal chambers
  5. Utilize PMBus, I2C, UART, ModBus, CAN/CAN-FD for control, logging, and data validation
