Hardware Engineer for the C2BMC program, supporting the design, development, selection, procurement, and approval of hardware and network products. Responsibilities include managing Bill of Materials, coordinating with review boards, supporting CDRL delivery, and preparing BOM for proposal pricing and hardware/software evaluation. Requires a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. The selected applicant will work directly with the HW Architect and BOM Manager and will be responsible for working with the Architecture Review Board (ARB), the Hardware Site Engineering Control Board (HSECB), and assigned engineering staff from all functional areas to support hardware and software selection and to compile, maintain, and coordinate Bill of Material changes with Task Order Management and Customer Representatives
  2. This role will support the delivery of multiple CDRLs covering HW and SW reports and current design details
  3. This role will support the preparation of the BOM for proposal pricing and ongoing hardware and software evaluation to support EOS/EOL and evolution roadmap planning
  4. Ability to coordinate with the C2BMC Integrated Logistics Support Working Group (ILSWG)

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
  • current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs
  • proven track record of applying hardware architecture principles to system design and development
  • Experience working within integrated teams with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop hardware and infrastructure solutions using engineering processes and methods
  • Experience communicating the desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject-matter experts, and users
  • solid understanding of hardware and networking device selection, procurement processes, and hardware baseline approaches
  • Ability to support End-of-Sale/End-of-Life COA analysis
  • Experience with HW Architecture
  • Identify and define the target hardware baseline, along with the integration practices and methods
  • Understanding and appreciation of information assurance, maintenance, operations, and logistics concerns, and their application to requirements, design, and development phases, and to MDNT program processes and work products
  • Provide a technical risk assessment for unsupported product configurations upon receiving vendor obsolescence notices (for HW and SW)
  • COTS Product Supportability Assessments and formal trade studies

Nice to have

  • HW/SW Baseline DB experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with the application and use of hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure, with Private on-prem cloud design is a plus
  • Experience in ballistic missile defense or air defense operations is highly desirable
