Shield AI is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, validation, and deployment of advanced test systems for their V-BAT UAV. This role involves architecting PCBs, developing automated test sequences in Python, and integrating custom test fixtures to ensure the reliability of aerospace hardware in harsh environments. The engineer will also mentor junior staff and drive design-for-testability improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the design, validation, and deployment of advanced test systems for V-BAT’s critical components and subsystems.
  2. Architect PCBs and test interfaces for power electronics, RF, and communication systems.
  3. Develop automated test sequences in Python, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and repeatability.
  4. Design and integrate custom test fixtures, including relays, PLCs, PCBAs, and harnessing.
  5. Own and drive cross-functional design reviews, advocating for design-for-testability (DFT) improvements.

Skills

Required

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
  • 3+ years of industry experience in hardware design and test engineering
  • Deep expertise in electrical design, mechanical, and software engineering principles as applied to hardware test systems
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and validate multidisciplinary hardware systems in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
