Hardware Validation Engineer

Oracle Oracle · Enterprise · Santa Clara, CA +1

This role focuses on hardware validation for Oracle Cloud servers and systems, involving the use of high-speed test equipment and analysis tools to validate server designs. The engineer will collaborate with various teams for root-cause analysis and component qualification, supporting both new platform development and sustaining efforts for deployed systems. Experience with Linux and scripting languages is required, along with a strong analytical and problem-solving background. The role mentions an interest in applying AI tools to improve engineering workflows, but the core function is hardware validation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support hardware validation activities for server platforms and system configurations.
  2. Define and execute validation test plans across multiple platform configurations, following defined pass/fail criteria.
  3. Assist with parallel validation efforts across bring-up, validation, and sustaining program phases.
  4. Perform board-level validation using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal analyzers for interfaces including PCIe, DDR, I2C/SMBus, SPI, power, clocks, and control signals.
  5. Support high-speed signal integrity validation and compliance testing under guidance from senior engineers.
