Harness Integration Technician

Figure AI Figure AI · Robotics · Hardware

Figure AI, a robotics company, is seeking a Wire Harness Technician to design and build wire harnesses and custom cables for test setups, enabling rapid iteration in their prototyping and low-volume environment. The role involves translating engineering test needs into practical solutions, adhering to IPC/WHMA standards, and performing electrical tests. Requires 2-5+ years of experience in harness building, proficiency in crimping and soldering, and the ability to read prints with minimal supervision. Bonus qualifications include certifications, experience supporting test labs, and familiarity with cable testers and ERP systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build build-to-print and custom wire harnesses, including cut, strip, crimp, solder, braid/sleeve, heat-shrink, basic potting, and final terminations.
  2. Create custom cables and harnesses on demand to support test setups, debugging, EVT/DVT activities, and rapid hardware iteration, often with evolving or incomplete requirements.
  3. Partner closely with engineering and test teams to quickly translate test needs into practical cable and harness solutions.
  4. Read and follow drawings, schematics, BOMs, work orders, and ECOs; record traceability in ERP/routers.
  5. Crimp and verify terminals/contacts (TE/AMP, Molex, JST, Amphenol/LEMO, etc.) with specified tooling; document pull tests when required.
