Harness Integration Technician

Figure AI Figure AI · Robotics · Hardware

Figure AI is seeking a Wire Harness Technician to build production-quality wire harnesses for their humanoid robot. This role involves cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and testing wire harnesses according to IPC/WHMA standards in a fast-paced prototype and low-volume environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build build-to-print harnesses: cut, strip, crimp, solder, braid/sleeve, heat-shrink, basic potting, final terminations.
  2. Read and follow drawings, schematics, BOMs, work orders, and ECOs; record traceability in ERP/routers.
  3. Crimp and verify terminals/contacts (TE/AMP, Molex, JST, Amphenol/LEMO, etc.) with specified tooling; document pull tests when required.
  4. Print/apply labels and heat-shrink markers per print.
  5. Perform electrical tests: continuity, insulation/hipot, and basic troubleshooting with DMM/cable testers/fixtures.

Skills

Required

  • 2–5+ years building wire harnesses/cable assemblies in manufacturing or prototyping.
  • Ability to read prints/schematics and follow work instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in crimping and soldering (selective tinning, shields/drain wires, coax/twisted pair).
  • Hands-on with tooling: strippers, gauges, pull testers, manual/pneumatic crimpers (Daniels or similar), soldering stations, heat guns.
  • Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Class 2/3) and familiarity with J-STD-001.
  • Strong quality and schedule focus: high first-pass yield and low rework.

Nice to have

  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 certifications.
  • Experience with cable testers (e.g., Cirris) and basic fixture integration.
  • Exposure to ECOs/NPI, fast-paced startup environments, and creating/maintaining SOPs.
  • Basic comfort with CAD viewers for drawing review and with ERP for traceability.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
