Harness Integration Technician, Quick Turn

Figure AI Figure AI · Robotics · BotQ Manufacturing

Figure AI is seeking a Harness Integration Technician for their Quick Turn team. This role involves rapid, same-day/next-day custom cable and harness builds for critical prototype schedules in an AI Robotics company developing a general-purpose humanoid robot. Responsibilities include cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and testing cables, ensuring quality and traceability, and maintaining workshop standards. The role requires 2+ years of experience in wire harness building in a prototype environment, strong technical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

What you'd actually do

  1. Rapidly build custom cables and harnesses (cut, strip, crimp, solder, braid/sleeve, heat-shrink, basic potting, final terminations) from drawings/BOMs/work orders.
  2. Turn around urgent requests in hours or days while maintaining quality; coordinate closely with engineering for last-minute tweaks.
  3. Crimp and verify terminals/contacts (TE/AMP, Molex, JST, Amphenol/LEMO, etc.) using specified tooling; perform and log pull tests when required.
  4. Print/apply labels and heat-shrink markers; ensure traceability in ERP or router system.
  5. Perform continuity and insulation/hipot tests; troubleshoot with DMMs and cable testers.

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years building wire harnesses/cable assemblies in a prototype or low-volume manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality cables on tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong crimping and soldering skills (selective tinning, shields/drain wires, coax/twisted pair)
  • Hands-on with strippers, gauges, pull testers, manual/pneumatic crimpers, soldering stations, and heat guns
  • Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Class 2/3) and familiarity with J-STD-001
  • Comfortable reading prints, schematics, BOMs, work orders, and ECOs; disciplined about documentation and traceability

Nice to have

  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 certification
  • Experience running cable testers (e.g., Cirris) and integrating simple test fixtures
  • Familiarity with robotics prototypes or other electromechanical systems
  • ERP data entry (part traceability, router sign-offs) and SOP authorship
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

What the JD emphasized

  • same-day/next-day cable and harness builds
  • keep critical prototype schedules on track
  • urgent requests in hours or days
