Hcm Consultant – Workday Success Plans

Workday is seeking an HCM Consultant for their Success Plans team. This role focuses on helping customers drive business value from Workday applications post-go-live through micro-consulting engagements, feature demonstrations, and troubleshooting. The consultant will act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on configuration, sharing expertise, and highlighting best practices. Responsibilities include research, delivering consulting services, creating presentations, and accelerating customer feature adoption. The role requires experience with HCM systems and IT implementation, strong communication, and critical thinking skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conducting research to ensure understanding of customer questions and related Workday concepts.
  2. Delivering small scope consulting in response to customer requests; providing configuration guidance, demonstrations, considerations, tips & tricks. (Ask an Expert)
  3. Troubleshooting product configuration to resolve or provide optimal product configuration to meet customer business requirements.
  4. Clearly and effectively communicating responses and value to customers.
  5. Creating and delivering customer presentations on how to use Workday features to achieve business goals (Accelerator Webinars).

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience with HCM systems including but not limited to Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, and/or JD Edwards
  • 3+ years of IT implementation experience
  • 2+ years of software consulting experience
  • Workday Certification, or ability to certify in HCM
  • Ability to gain a thorough understanding of Workday concepts as new features are released
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into understandable presentations for our customers
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple engagements and deliverables simultaneously
  • Strong critical thinking skills so as to understand complex, technical process issues and facilitate/influence decision making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Fluency in French, German, Italian or Spanish at a business level is a plus
