Head of Apac Accounting

This role is for a Head of APAC Accounting at Anthropic, a frontier AI company. The position involves building and leading the regional Corporate Accounting function, owning end-to-end accounting and finance operations, and setting the strategy for financial control in the APAC region. The role requires a hands-on approach, experience in scaling financial operations, and leveraging AI tooling to improve accounting processes. It is a senior Controllership role reporting to the Head of International Accounting.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the APAC Corporate Accounting function end to end and be accountable for the accuracy, timeliness, and control of all regional financial reporting
  2. Own statutory financial statements, local audits, board reporting, and corporate secretarial filings for all APAC legal entities, acting as the primary relationship owner for external auditors
  3. Be accountable for the APAC month-end close and consolidation into the global group, including journals, intercompany, reconciliations, and flux review
  4. Build, lead, and develop a high-performing regional accounting and finance operations team across multiple APAC locations
  5. Design and operate the regional internal control framework and prepare the region for future SOX and public-company readiness

What the JD emphasized

  • 15+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience
  • 5+ years as a regional or group controller
  • qualified accountant (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent)
