This role leads the strategic sourcing and procurement function for services at OpenAI, focusing on enabling the company's mission by scaling responsibly and securely. The Head of Corporate Services Sourcing will define and drive sourcing strategies across various service categories, guide supplier strategy and commercial models, and build capabilities for scaling this domain. The role involves partnering with senior leaders across multiple departments to shape sourcing strategies, negotiate complex commercial deals, and build scalable ways of working. Key responsibilities include defining category strategies, supplier segmentation, negotiation playbooks, and establishing supplier KPIs and performance mechanisms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and commercial leadership, with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build scalable sourcing models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead sourcing strategy across a broad services portfolio that supports teams across OpenAI.
  2. Partner across every business unit to shape sourcing strategies for professional services, ensuring teams can access the capabilities they need with the right balance of speed, value, and governance.
  3. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior and executive leadership on services strategy, supplier ecosystems, commercial tradeoffs, and risk.
  4. Define category strategies, supplier segmentation approaches, negotiation playbooks, and commercial frameworks that improve speed, consistency, and leverage.
  5. Engage early on high-impact services decisions to shape supplier selection, deal structures, and commercial outcomes in the areas that matter most to OpenAI’s speed, resilience, and stewardship.
