Head of Learning Architecture, Aws Training and Certifications

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · Seattle, WA · Applied Science

This role leads the Learning Architecture team at AWS Training & Certification, focusing on building the knowledge layer for AI agents that power personalized learning experiences. The team owns strategy, roadmap, and execution for systems like persona frameworks, skills, assessment architecture, and quality rubrics. The role involves managing a team of Learning Architects and collaborating with Applied Science and Engineering to define AI capabilities, drive quality at scale through a Quality & Rubric Engine, and govern the AWS skill taxonomy. Experience in people management and building products with Agentic AI is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the knowledge layer strategy. Define and execute the product vision, including the persona framework, skills, learning objective service, assessment architecture, and quality rubric system.
  2. Lead and develop the Learning Architect team. Build and manage a team of Learning Architects that set the standard for what a great specifications looks like. Define the operating model for how Learning Architects collaborate with AI for adaptive personalized content creation. Hire, develop, and retain world-class talent in a role that is new to the industry.
  3. Own content product development direction and strategy for the AI agents that helps Learning Architects. Partner with Applied Science and Engineering to define the roadmap and prioritize AI capabilities.
  4. Drive quality at scale. Own the Quality & Rubric Engine — the system that validates AI-generated output against human-calibrated standards. Set the target, build the calibration methodology, and ensure nothing ships below the quality bar. Quality is not a gate you apply at the end; it is a system you build into the architecture.
  5. Govern the AWS skill taxonomy. Own the governed skill structure that gives AI a consistent foundation to reason. Ensure cross-persona consistency, resolve conflicts, and maintain the integrity of the taxonomy as AWS services evolve.
