This role focuses on optimizing the operational life cycle for critical merchant partners within Uber Eats Japan, aiming to create efficient and scalable onboarding and growth processes. The Head of Merchant Enablement will lead a team, manage complex manual processes, and drive automation using AI tools to streamline operations and improve speed-to-market. The role involves strategic problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and change management, with a strong emphasis on operational excellence and automation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive the strategy for Merchant Enablement, focusing on Enterprise Partner Onboarding, Enterprise Partner Operations, and SMB Sales Support.
  2. Own the complex, manual processes associated with ENT menu changes and miscellaneous requests, transforming them into streamlined, automated workflows.
  3. Manage and upskill a team of 20+ external contractors and 2 Full Time Employees, ensuring high performance, efficiency, and business continuity.
  4. Deep dive into operations data to identify bottlenecks and design scalable solutions that improve speed-to-market and issue resolution.
  5. Proactively identify opportunities to use AI tools to automate existing manual processes

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years in BizOps, Consulting, or high-volume Onboarding
  • Proven track record of managing large, diverse teams (FTEs + Contractors) and influencing stakeholders upward.
  • Bilingual fluency is a must (Business Level Japanese and Business-level English)
  • Strong analytical thinking
