This role is for a Head of Tax at an AI-first public company. The primary responsibilities include driving global tax strategy, planning, compliance, and reporting. The role requires managing tax provision, financial reporting, international tax, M&A, and leading a global tax team. While the company is AI-first and uses AI in its operations, this specific role is focused on tax functions and does not involve building or directly working with AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute the company’s global tax strategy aligned with business growth and international expansion.
  2. Oversee quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision and financial statement disclosures.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and international tax returns.
  4. Oversee global tax compliance and planning across multiple jurisdictions.
  5. Drive optimization of legal entity structures supporting global growth.

Skills

Required

  • 15+ years of progressive tax experience including public accounting and in-house leadership.
  • Experience leading tax for a public technology or SaaS company, ideally $2B+ revenue.
  • Deep experience with ASC 740 tax accounting and global tax provision processes.
  • Strong international tax expertise including transfer pricing and global structuring.
  • Experience with IPO readiness or operating in a public company environment.
  • Proven experience managing tax controversy and audits with federal, state, and international tax authorities.
  • Strong internal controls over tax processes consistent with SOX requirements.
