Heat Treat Engineer

This role focuses on implementing and improving testing, development, and validation techniques, processes, tooling, and machinery for industrial applications, specifically in heat treatment. It involves resolving design/manufacturing issues, adopting new technologies like automation and robotics, planning and improving testing procedures, and monitoring machine/process capabilities. The ideal candidate has a background in engineering, experience with industrial machinery operations, and skills in project management, technical troubleshooting, and product testing.

What you'd actually do

  1. Resolving issues regarding the design or manufacturing. Ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.
  2. Participating in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement.
  3. Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make the test more reliable, efficient and cost-effective.
  4. Monitoring results, machine and process capabilities and performance reliability.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Heat Treatment Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years working with industrial machinery operations, including thermal‑treatment furnaces and induction heat‑treating equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Core Tools and strong command of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for process and quality assessments.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to optimize machinery performance and ensure process reliability.
  • Ability to interpret testing results and support compliance with technical standards.
  • Strong capability to diagnose and resolve technical issues using problem‑solving tools such as Core Tools and RCA.
  • Ability to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence in machinery and process operations.

Nice to have

  • Advanced Conversational English
  • Basic knowledge of general industrial maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of destructive and non‑destructive testing.
  • Green Belt training.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes (electric arc, friction, TIG).
