This role involves maintaining and repairing a diverse range of heavy-duty equipment, including delivery vehicles, tractors, and trailers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing various systems such as hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronics, and engines, using diagnostic equipment and personal tools. The position requires physical labor and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

What you'd actually do

  1. He/She maintains a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy duty machinery, on road tractors, and trailers from a variety of manufacturers.
  2. This position troubleshoots and maintains/repairs various systems including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronics, and engines.
  3. He/She performs other tasks as requested.
  4. Meet D.O.T requirements and be CDL qualified as required by job assignment
  5. Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and turn/pivot frequently throughout the duration of the workday

Skills

Required

  • Tractor shifter mechanic experience
  • Diagnostic equipment
  • Scan tools
  • Personal computer experience
  • Full complement of personal hand tools
  • CDL qualified
  • Ability to work varying shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to assist in moving up to 150 pounds
  • Operate standard/manual transmission
  • Operate power, pneumatic tools
  • U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S.
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Experience completing repairs and or body work on trailer or dolly equipment

Nice to have

  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer

  • Current documented tractor shifter mechanic experience
  • Possess a full complement of personal hand tools
