Figure AI Figure AI · Robotics · HQ · AI - Helix Team

Figure AI is seeking a Localization and Mapping Engineer to develop and deploy systems for humanoid robots. The role involves architecting and implementing real-time localization, ego-motion tracking, and state estimation by fusing multi-modal sensor data. It also includes building offline pose-tracking pipelines, optimizing sensor calibration, and designing reliable software solutions for robotics applications. Experience with SLAM, computer vision, C++, and deep learning approaches to robotics is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Architect and implement real-time localization, ego-motion tracking, and state estimation systems by fusing multi-modal sensor data (cameras, IMUs, encoders, magnetic sensors).
  2. Build and maintain scalable, offline pose-tracking pipelines to process large-scale training data from diverse sources.
  3. Develop and optimize multi-sensor calibration systems for humanoid robotics and data collection platforms.
  4. Partner with cross-functional teams to build comprehensive, data-driven evaluation and testing frameworks.
  5. Design, engineer, and deploy high-quality, reliable software solutions for real-world robotics applications.
