System Administrator for High Performance Computing (HPC) in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment, requiring security clearance and IT/Digital Technology experience. Responsibilities include system administration, troubleshooting, OS tuning, security compliance, and documentation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  2. Help develop and implement new technologies based upon industry best practices.
  3. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a high scope and complexity to include the integration of High-Performance Computing hardware, software, and operating systems (OS).
  4. Understanding software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware, and system-level troubleshooting, to lead and support the engineering community.
  5. Perform OS tuning to maximize system performance on high performance computing systems. Work across DT functions to standardize processes and procedures.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and less than 2 years of relevant experience or a total of 4 years relevant technical experience in IT or Digital Technology
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience in Windows and/or Linux Server Environments including directory services management, and system hardening

Nice to have

  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
  • Experience in project leadership, management, or project management in a DT domain
  • Basic to advance scripting experience
  • Experience maintaining a medium sized Microsoft Windows Server environment
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Experience with High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools
  • An active DoD Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Windows and Unix security hardening, systems integrations, advanced troubleshooting, and authentication service integration (LDAP)
  • Unix (Including Linux and Solaris), experience in a medium to high complex environment(s)
  • Working knowledge of High-Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools such as SLURM, Grid Engine and Ganglia
