High-speed Interconnect Architect

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Santa Clara, CA

NVIDIA is seeking a High-Speed Interconnect Architect to define and drive the future of their high-speed interconnect solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, with deep experience in high-speed connector and cable manufacturing. The architect will lead roadmap strategies, balance requirements with innovation, and work closely with customers and vendors.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and lead the product roadmap for high-speed cables and connectors, rooted in state-of-the-art technical understanding and forward-thinking vision
  2. Specify clear, actionable requirements while enabling space for innovation across mechanical and signal integrity domains
  3. Work closely with customers and vendors to understand challenges, capture insights, and drive alignment from concept through execution
  4. Navigate the ME/SI tradeoff space, ensuring robust mechanical designs while respecting signal integrity constraints
  5. Lead or support root cause analysis of mating and mechanical issues, and continuously refine design for manufacturability and reliability

Skills

Required

  • B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, with strong working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 12+ years experience in high-speed cable and connector design and manufacturing
  • Proven ability to lead product roadmap development and balance technical tradeoffs between signal integrity and mechanical constraints
  • Deep understanding of mating issues, connector mechanics, and high-speed performance limitations
  • Experience working cross-functionally with customers, vendors, and internal R&D/engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and collaborator management skills

Nice to have

  • Background in SI/ME co-design for high-speed (>=100Gbps per lane) interconnects
  • Familiarity with high-speed design tools, FEA/thermal/mechanical modeling, and lab measurement techniques
  • Previous ownership of product lifecycle from concept through manufacturing
  • Passion for innovation and industry leadership
