This role focuses on ensuring and improving the durability and reliability of home hardware products by developing and implementing reliability tests, quantifying risk, supporting failure analysis, and advising on product lifecycle decisions. It involves partnering with engineering teams, exploring new technologies, and understanding customer usage.

What you'd actually do

  1. Developing new reliability tests procedures and specification
  2. Preparing concise and detailed test plans and analyzing test reports
  3. Statistically analyzing data to provide design risk assessments
  4. Presenting tests, results, and risk assessments in a confident and positive manner to management and executive teams
  5. Researching new technologies to understand unique failure mechanisms
  6. Guiding design and interacting with diverse groups to improve product reliability
