This role is for an HR Control Manager Vice President at JPMorgan Chase, focused on enhancing the control environment for HR data management, product management, and AI/ML governance. The position involves identifying and assessing risks, designing controls, and ensuring compliance with firm standards and regulatory expectations. It requires expertise in data governance, AI/ML governance, and risk management within a large, regulated financial services organization.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work in partnership with key senior stakeholders within HR CDAO to identify and assess risks and provide control expertise on the design of controls to mitigate data related risks.
  2. Establish / maintain a unified Control Manager operating model for AI initiatives: Co-led with AI Governance Coordinators - by defining roles and responsibilities, aligning strategic processes, documenting end-to-end CM process flows and RACI matrices, and the AI risk decision tree to accelerate delivery, strengthen risk and controls, and achieve consistent CM execution.
  3. Create / maintain a comprehensive framework for risk estimation and management across HR ensuring developer and end‑user controls are applied consistently beyond CDAO organization and establishing a documented evidence model to demonstrate sustainable control effectiveness across HR.
  4. Partner with the Data Product to design and operationalize the process from Risk management perspective, ensuring appropriate controls, documentation, evidence capture, and adherence to firmwide risk management requirements.
  5. Provide leadership support for the end-to-end execution of the Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE), including control deficiencies and resolutions, to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance
  • A working experience in one or more of: data governance (protection, classification, retention, destruction, quality and data use), AI governance, product governance, or technology governance within a large, regulated organization.
  • Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate the operational risk and control environment in conjunction with business partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
