HR Operations Immigration Specialist role focused on managing immigration and global mobility processes, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies, and partnering with various stakeholders. What you'd actually do

  1. Providing guidance and consultation to associates, People Leaders, and HR partners on immigration requirements, work authorization, and Capital One's Global Mobility procedures
  2. Administering Canada’s Immigration and Global Mobility programs, which includes communicating program details and managing invoice reconciliation
  3. Ensuring compliance with provincial and federal laws and Capital One policies, including auditing temporary work permits and related documentation to confirm ongoing associate eligibility to work
  4. Partnering with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., HRBPs, Associate Relations, Legal, Immigration Consultants) on regulatory and employment liability issues as they relate to complex cases
  5. Proposing, developing, and implementing continuous improvements to processes and documentation for the HR Operations, Immigration, and Global Mobility portfolio, staying current on legislation to develop and maintain company policies. This includes resolving root causes of problems.

Skills

Required

  • 2 years of experience managing HR programs, with a primary focus on Immigration and Global Mobility
  • Experience providing HR Operations services to all levels of stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources management or a related field
  • Human Resource designation or working towards (CHRP, CHRL)
  • Familiarity with supporting a multi-entity organization and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Forms), HRIS and case management systems (i.e. Workday and Salesforce)
  • Experience working with third party vendors
