This role focuses on managing the accommodation process for employees, acting as a primary contact and subject matter expert on disability laws and accommodation procedures. While the company utilizes AI and GenAI tools, this specific role does not involve building or directly working with AI/ML models. The responsibilities include case management, stakeholder collaboration, and educating employees and HR on accommodation processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform accommodation reviews to ensure compliance and to support employee requests for accommodation in safe and productive assignments
  2. Serve as a subject matter expert on the accommodations process as well as state and federal disability laws.
  3. Coordinate the accommodation process and provide end-to-end case management
  4. Collaborate with Stakeholders to determine and finalize accommodation approval/denials
  5. Collaborate with leave of absence case managers

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years of human resources experience
  • Experience with HR processes and systems
  • An individual in this position must understand Amazon business operations and have a general understanding of statutory leaves and disability policies and laws, in addition to understanding the job accommodation processes including utilization of internal resources
  • 1+ years of experience managing case or providing support to employees on disability, leave of absences, human resources, or employee relations functions
  • Knowledge of federal and state disability laws regarding access for people with disabilities
  • Intermediate experience working with Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice to have

  • Experience with process improvement and stakeholder management
  • Experience managing confidential and sensitive employee information and adherence to strict confidentiality standards
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, or equivalent experience
  • PHR and/or CPDM certification
  • Computer operating and database management skills
  • Strong time management and ownership of deliverables
  • Detail orientation with ability to analyze, problem solve, organize and manage multiple priorities and excellent follow up skills in a fast-paced environment
