Hsio Functional and Power Management Engineer

NVIDIA is seeking a versatile engineer for their HW ArchDev team, focusing on high-speed IOs like NVLink and NVLink-C2C. The role involves contributing to design, power optimizations, energy efficiency, interoperability, and debugging of next-generation products that impact various NVIDIA product lines including AI, graphics, and self-driving cars. Requires a BS/MS in EE/CE with minimum 10 years of HSIO experience in power management, use case analysis, perf/power modeling, bringup, and/or debug, along with strong EE fundamentals and computer architecture knowledge.

What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute to the design of the next generation of high-speed IOs, including NVLink and NVLink-C2C.
  2. Responsible for IO power optimizations and continuing to push energy efficiency.
  3. Ensure interoperability with connected devices and system components in complex interconnect topologies
  4. Deep dive into technically challenging HSIO bugs and help drive debug efforts across various teams
  5. Work closely and proactively with other engineering teams such as system architects, mixed signal and design, DGX, software/firmware, HW/SW QA, operations, and AE teams to drive design, development, debug, and release of next-generation products.

Skills

Required

  • BS or MS degree in EE/CE or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years working on HSIO with power management, use case analysis, perf/power modeling, bringup, and/or debug
  • Experience with system-level and interconnect power management optimizations
  • Silicon and platform-level power modeling for active/idle use cases
  • Understanding of firmware/driver structures and their interaction with HW
  • Strong EE fundamentals
  • Knowledgeable in computer architecture
  • Knowledgeable in high-speed interfaces
  • Knowledgeable in timing analysis
  • Knowledgeable in process variations
  • Knowledgeable in statistical error rates
  • Knowledgeable in power analysis

  • Track record of influence, leadership, and collaboration across multiple teams towards a unified goal.
