HR Specialist role at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) providing generalist HR support including onboarding, benefits and compensation administration, policy interpretation, employee file maintenance, and HR communications for the Great Lakes team. What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborating with the Great Lakes HR team to provide general support for local staff including contributing to onboarding, leave-of-absence management, off-boarding, and employee relations
  2. Interpreting, implementing, and answering inquiries related to HR benefits, payroll, policies and procedures, while ensuring consistency and thoughtfully navigating grey areas
  3. Creating and maintaining a variety of reports and audits for the local office HR function including attrition and turnover, people movements, form I-9 tracking, and others
  4. Contributing to projects and process improvements for the Great Lakes HR team, as needed
  5. Actively participating in the Great Lakes HR team and the broader HR community including regional/global initiatives and projects

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field strongly preferred
  • 2-5 years of business experience, preferably at a high touch environment with professional staff
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment and labor laws
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong analytical abilities strongly preferred
  • Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through
