This role is for an HVAC Engineer responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and building mechanical systems at Verizon facilities. The position involves hands-on work, inspections, and adherence to company practices and regulations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Starting, operating, repairing and maintaining various types of heating and air conditioning plants and associated equipment (i.e. air handling equipment, refrigeration equipment, etc.).
  2. Maintaining and repairing motor controller and associated electrical equipment and control circuits.
  3. Installing, repairing and calibrating various makes of pneumatic and/or electric controls required for the operation of temperature and humidity control equipment.
  4. Performing inspections and making repairs on equipment/systems as required by company practices and/or regulations/ordinances.
  5. Reviewing and interpreting word orders, operating instructions, diagrams, building plans and mechanical equipment drawings.

Skills

Required

  • Universal Technician Certification (EPA)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building mechanical systems
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as needed

Nice to have

  • Relevant vocational or technical training
  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Recent experience performing maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment

What the JD emphasized

  • Universal Technician Certification as designated by EPA regulations-40 CFR Part 82 Subpart H
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
  • Must meet safety-related requirements including but not limited to those standards of safety imposed by OSHA, state agencies, manufacturers and/or the company.
  • Medical evaluation is required. Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying and maneuvering heavy equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
