Ice/xev Powertrain Dyno Engineer

Ford Ford · Auto · Dearborn, MI +1 · PD Operations and Quality

This role focuses on engine/powertrain dynamometer calibration for traditional and electrified systems, supporting feature calibration, emissions, and OBD development. It involves troubleshooting control systems, debugging logic, and managing calibration tasks to ensure production release quality.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform engine/powertrain dyno data collection and analysis to generate calibrations for traditional internal combustion and electrified systems.
  2. Develop dynamometer-based powertrain feature calibrations in support of program releases, including hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV/PHEV) energy management and torque arbitration.
  3. Perform basic troubleshooting of CAN/CAN FD communication issues and control module interactions between the test cell and the powertrain.
  4. Debug complex control logic and software integration issues to ensure dyno results accurately reflect real-world vehicle behavior.
  5. Proactively manage calibration tasks to deliver programs on time with quality.
