What you'd actually do

  1. Execute daily import and export transactions for finished goods, samples, and related materials in compliance with local and international trade regulations.
  2. Prepare, review, and submit trade documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
  3. Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation partners to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
  4. Monitor shipment status, resolve clearance issues, and proactively manage delays, discrepancies, or regulatory holds.
  5. Ensure compliance with applicable import/export controls, customs laws, and DePuy Synthes trade compliance policies.

Skills

Required

  • 2–4 years of experience in import/export operations, transportation, logistics, or trade compliance within a regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of China customs regulations, import/export procedures, and international trade documentation.
  • Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and external logistics partners.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional, matrixed environment.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and verbal).

Nice to have

  • Professional certification in logistics, customs, or trade compliance preferred.
  • Experience supporting medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with free trade agreements, tariff classification, and customs valuation.
  • Exposure to internal or external trade compliance audits.
