In-vehicle Cybersecurity Manager

Lead a team of vehicle cybersecurity engineers responsible for securing Ford vehicle programs through cybersecurity requirements development, compliance reviews, supplier deliverable evaluation, and risk management support. This role partners closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure security-by-design is embedded throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept through launch.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a team of vehicle cybersecurity engineers responsible for designing cybersecurity controls, testing, and risk management from end to end on embedded vehicle devices.
  2. Oversee assessments, compliance reviews, and technical evaluations of features, functions, platforms, and modules in accordance with Ford cybersecurity engineering processes and relevant global requirements, standards, and regulations such as ISO 21434 and R155.
  3. Ensure cybersecurity requirements are identified, engineered into product designs, and tracked through the development lifecycle from ideation through testing and release.
  4. Review team assessments and supplier deliverables for completeness, technical accuracy, and conformance to established cybersecurity requirements.
  5. Partner with content owners, chief engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to support security-by-design decision-making and timely issue resolution.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded, IoT, or product systems cybersecurity.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating technical engineers or project work.
  • Functional knowledge of cryptographic controls and their application.
  • Experience with security system engineering, development, and testing.
  • Experience developing and maintaining engineering documentation, including requirements, specifications, and test plans.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with team leadership and cross-functional coordination.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related.
  • Certifications such as: CISSP, CASE or related.
