Software Design & Release Engineer for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems at Ford. This role acts as the primary interface between IVI core software and vehicle program teams, driving issue resolution, performing triage on bug reports and logs, managing software releases, and providing onsite plant support. Requires experience with electronics module software release processes and EOL configurations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Initiate Jira’s and interface with the IVI software product owners/developers for resolution of issues. Along with timing to support program milestones.
  2. Perform initial triage analysis of Bug Reports, logs, and CAN data to expedite issue resolution.
  3. IVI feature expert on Program specific content, feature operations, and EOL configurations.
  4. Drive resolution of software related issues and collaborate with other Ford cross-functional teams on root cause.
  5. Onsite plant support for functional audits, and End of Line (EOL) issue resolution. Gather data and lead troubleshooting/analysis of all IVI software issues.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Computer Software)
  • 3+ years of Electronics Module Software Design & Release Engineer experience
  • Experience with Module hardware or software release processes
  • Experience with End of Line (EOL) module configuration & DTC issue resolution
  • Experience with automotive networks (Value-CAN, Vehicle Spy, CANalyzer)
  • Experience with Software re-flash tools/processes
  • Experience with Ford engineering software management tools (JIRA, VSEM, SMPSN, SWAD)
  • Experience with Ford Project Management toolset (FEDE-BOM, FEDE-DV, WERS, CDR’s)

Nice to have

  • Ford experience
  • Vehicle level testing and software validation experience
  • Interfacing with Ford Voice of Customer Fleet issues and troubleshooting vehicles
  • In-Vehicle Infotainment background
  • Cost analysis skills
  • Experience with automotive technologies (Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Voice recognition)
