Principal Data Scientist to drive data-informed strategy and innovation across Walmart’s eCommerce ecosystem. This role involves designing scalable data science strategies, developing impactful features, simulating business scenarios, and translating analytical insights into strategic decisions. Collaboration with product, engineering, and business teams is key to optimizing customer experience, personalization, and AI-driven commerce initiatives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design analytical frameworks and models that shape decision-making across customer behavior modeling, catalog enrichment, search and ads integration, recommendations, payments, and agentic commerce.
  2. Identify, design, and evaluate high-impact features. Simulate large-scale customer and business outcomes to assess trade-offs and optimize performance metrics.
  3. Apply optimization, causal inference, and advanced statistical techniques to improve personalization, ranking, pricing, and recommendation accuracy. Design experiments and measure impact rigorously.
  4. Deeply analyze customer and operational data to uncover actionable insights that drive strategy, growth, and efficiency across the eCommerce journey.
  5. Partner with product managers, engineers, and strategy leaders to ensure analytical solutions align with business priorities and drive measurable results.
