Indirect Tax Manager, Global Trade Advisory (gta)

This role focuses on Indirect Tax and Global Trade Advisory, helping companies manage global compliance requirements, import/export strategies, and leverage technology for international trade management. It involves advising multinational companies, supervising teams, and developing client relationships.

What you'd actually do

  1. Helping companies manage global compliance requirements and realize efficiencies in their global supply chain.
  2. Advising U.S. and foreign multinational companies on global import and export strategies and compliance.
  3. Working with clients to assess and deploy technology solutions to enable international trade management operations.
  4. Supervising assignments by the Global Trade professionals serving as Consultants and Senior Consultants.
  5. Developing and motivating the engagement staff by providing them with leadership, counselling, and career guidance.

Skills

Required

  • Import, Export and/or Technology Enablement experience
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing import/export compliance processes and internal controls
  • Experience leading and managing global project teams
  • Active accreditations

Nice to have

  • Prior consulting experience
  • Advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM
  • Foreign language skills or study abroad experience
  • Strong research, writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with implementing and configuring trade management software such as SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, etc.
  • Project management experience
  • Business management and financial leadership experience
  • Ability to proactively develop internal and external relationships
  • Detail-oriented and a self-starter
  • Significant experience in using PowerPoint, MS Project, Access, Excel, and/or Visio
  • SAP SD/MM Certifications

What the JD emphasized

  • 5+ years of experience in Import, Export and/or Technology Enablement experience (operational, government, law firm, or consulting)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a legal, business or technology related field
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing import/export compliance processes and internal controls
  • Experience leading and managing global project teams
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained
