This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes and efficiency using mathematical modeling, data analysis, and simulation techniques. It involves designing and implementing processes, conducting time studies, creating Value Stream Maps, and analyzing factory layouts and material flow. The role requires experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), data analysis tools like Excel and Tableau, and factory simulation software like FlexSim. A STEM degree and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Positively impact the financial bottom line by working with other engineering and non-engineering disciplines and departments to eliminate waste and improve processes
  2. Utilize mathematical modeling, data analysis, and simulation techniques to analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and streamline processes
  3. Design and implement processes to improve efficiency and flow throughout the factory
  4. Complete time studies and cycle bar charts on production lines and processes
  5. Create Value Stream Maps for manufacturing lines

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 2 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis OR Masters’ degree in STEM with 0 years of experience (for Level 2)
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis OR Masters’ degree in STEM with 3 years of experience (for Level 3)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES) experience
  • Experience using the full suite of Microsoft Office Tools
  • Experience using Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables
  • Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications (e.g. Tableau)
  • Experience with factory simulation / modeling (e.g. FlexSim)

Nice to have

  • Industrial Engineering degree with 2+ years (Level 2) or 5+ years (Level 3) of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in planning and managing new program ramp-ups
  • Experience training all levels and all functions of a manufacturing organization in continuous improvement / lean tools
  • Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Tableau, and advanced factory simulation tools
  • Lean/Six Sigma/Agile training/certification
  • Active Secret security clearance
