Boeing is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize lab operations, improve processes, and support test readiness in a dynamic lab setting. The role involves applying industrial engineering principles to enhance lab workflows, capacity planning, and resource utilization, ensuring efficient and safe test execution. Collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams is key.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Software, and Cyber Engineers and lab personnel to assess and improve lab test processes and workflows
  2. Develop and maintain lab equipment layouts, capacity plans, and work sequencing to optimize test throughput
  3. Analyze lab resource utilization and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction
  4. Support test readiness assessments and implement lean methodologies tailored to lab environments
  5. Develop models, databases, and metrics to monitor lab performance and provide actionable insights to leadership

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1 or more years of experience in an Industrial Engineering role
  • Experience working in a technical lab environment
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice to have

  • 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 or more years of experience in an Industrial Engineering role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience working in lab or test environments supporting systems or hardware integration
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience developing capacity plans, layouts, and workflow analyses
  • Knowledge of safety and ergonomic standards applicable to lab environments
