Industrial Engineer Intern (summer 2026)

This is an internship role for an Industrial Engineer to support the design, development, and scaling of autonomous service vessels. The role involves manufacturing process improvement, database analysis for production, and light tool/fixture design, with a focus on lean manufacturing principles within the defense tech industry.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the design and development of hardware and software systems for ASVs
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and refine ASV prototypes
  3. Ensure vessel designs support mission-specific operational requirements
  4. Document progress, prepare and write reports, and present findings to the team
  5. Work on manufacturing-related projects, aimed at improving efficiency, organization, and scalability of our production processes

Skills

Required

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with robotics, autonomy, or maritime and control systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
