Industrial Engineer (mid or Senior Level)

This role focuses on applying industrial engineering principles to optimize production systems and processes within Boeing Aerospace Operations. The engineer will analyze productivity, maximize production, minimize cost, and improve quality for aircraft maintenance, modification, and upgrades. Responsibilities include developing shop floor schedules, capacity planning, data analysis, and implementing Lean concepts to achieve operational excellence.

What you'd actually do

  1. Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements of moderate complexity.
  2. Designs, develops, analyzes, tests, evaluates and implements processes and technology insertions by applying industrial engineering techniques and concepts to optimize production system design, operational efficiency and after-market services.
  3. Monitors performance, supports production and systems to meet operational and functional requirements.
  4. Translates engineering, systems, and mathematical concepts to practical applications throughout the product life cycle.
  5. Researches emerging technologies and develops industrial engineering tools and processes.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)
  • 3+ years of experience defining, developing, implementing, or improving production processes.
  • 3+ years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing and/or production environment
  • 3+ years of experience with Earned Valuable Management (EVM)

Nice to have

  • Experience with effective time management, communication, and organizational skills
  • 5+ years of experience working in a fast paced, collaborative team environment
  • 5+ years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing with knowledge of lean principles
  • Experience in developing and deploying standard processes
  • Proficient in structured problem solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experience working with data sets from a wide variety of sources such as SQL server or Oracle preferred
  • Experience with Aircraft modifications, maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul (MRO)
  • Experience in program set up, execution planning, operations planning, and production support to include nonconformances
  • Experience with Tableau
