Information System Security Officer (ISSO) responsible for implementing and enforcing security compliance directives for sensitive engineering programs and their cybersecurity needs. This role involves creating and enforcing standard operating procedures based on government regulations, troubleshooting security issues, and managing various cybersecurity technologies and IT skill sets. The position requires a U.S. government-issued security clearance and specific cybersecurity certifications.

What you'd actually do

  1. Responsible for designated information system compliance at system level; including but not limited to technical configuration analysis, change control facilitation, hardware/software management, audit and inspections, incident response and troubleshooting, etc.
  2. Responsible for the System Security Plan maintenance.
  3. Sitting member on Change Control boards, providing technical and compliance related.
  4. Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and provide security training and guidance.
  5. Collect, review, document, and archive security event logs, reports and files in accordance with the System Security Plan (SSP), reporting any anomalies. Monitor and analyze all available resources that track user activity, provide warnings of system vulnerabilities, and provide system performance information in accordance with cybersecurity plans and policies.

Skills

Required

  • University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • U.S. citizenship
  • DOD Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain a TS clearance
  • DoD 8570-compliant industry certification at IAM Level I (Security +)

Nice to have

  • CGRC, CASP+ , Cisco (CCNA), CISSP, CISM
  • NIST SP 800-series RMF framework and guidelines
  • STIGs, SCAP, Splunk or other system hardening and compliance, vulnerability assessment, and/or SIEM tools
