Boeing is seeking an Inspector Assembly and Installation B to join their Quality team. This role involves inspecting final assemblies and installations to ensure they meet stringent quality standards and specifications. The inspector will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve defects, perform in-process inspections, and verify compliance with procedures. The position requires attention to detail, technical skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment, upholding safety and quality standards in aviation manufacturing.

What you'd actually do

  1. Inspect final assemblies, subassemblies, and installations of parts and systems for workmanship, fit, alignment, and conformance with drawings and specifications.
  2. Perform shakedown inspections and witness functional checks to ensure operational readiness.
  3. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to evaluate and coordinate improvements in build processes and defect reduction initiatives.
  4. Investigate and resolve defect-related problems, initiating and documenting nonconforming materials or assemblies as necessary.
  5. Conduct audits and surveillance of manufacturing and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with specifications.

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector or in a related inspection role within a similar industry, such as, but not limited to, Aerospace and Manufacturing.
  • Experience in setting and using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.
  • Ability to complete Fall Protection Training.
  • Ability to use a respirator or have been respirator certified.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk
  • Experience with 3-D Modeling tools.
