The Instrument Technician role provides process instrumentation maintenance support for the Lilly Medicine Foundry, focusing on equipment availability, calibration, troubleshooting, and reliability in a cGMP-regulated environment. Responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting instrumentation, operating test equipment, and supporting new equipment installations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Comply with all HSE aspects including safety procedures, policies, permits, and practices.
  2. Responsible meeting the quality standards as defined by cGMPs, the Global Quality Standards, and local procedures.
  3. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, pH, conductivity, level, etc.).
  4. Effectively troubleshoot and diagnose process instrumentation equipment and make appropriate repairs to minimize downtime.
  5. Provide accurate, complete, and legible work order documentation in GMARS.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years of industrial process instrumentation and calibration experience in FDA regulated industry
  • Strong understanding and troubleshooting skills in electrical systems and calibration
  • Instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, pH, and conductivity)
  • Electrical test equipment (flukes, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Electrical troubleshooting (24 VDC to 120 VAC)

Nice to have

  • Associates degree or Technical Certificate in electrical, automation, or process instrumentation
  • Ability to perform work without close supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level customer service
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving process instrumentation equipment
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office tools
  • Proficiency in CMMS (GMARS)
