Manager for Instrumentation and Data Systems (I&DS) within Boeing's F/A-18 Test & Evaluation team. Responsibilities include project planning, resource acquisition, supplier management, process improvement, and team leadership. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field and experience in a leadership role within an engineering or test environment. Security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
  2. Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  3. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  4. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  5. Manage, develop and motivate employees

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership"
  • Experience in a management and/or team lead role in an engineering and/or test environment
  • General knowledge of instrumentation, data systems and data processing
  • ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts
  • Experience working in a Flight Test environment
  • Experience working with Navy/Government customers
  • Experience working with flight test instrumentation and data systems
  • Experience working with data processing
  • Have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
