Northrop Grumman is seeking an Instrumentation Engineering Manager to lead a team of Engineers and Technicians in Melbourne, FL. The role involves program staffing, Test Readiness Reviews, leadership development, team engagement, goal setting, performance feedback, managing schedules, spending plans, staffing plans, developing proposals, and presenting status to senior leadership. Requires a STEM degree with significant engineering experience, specifically in Flight Test Instrumentation, System Test, Systems Integration, Project Leadership, Hardware Design, or Electrical Design. A Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance and Program Special Access.

What you'd actually do

  1. manage a Melbourne Flight Test Instrumentation Engineering team
  2. responsible for program staffing, Test Readiness Reviews, leadership development, and knowledge retention for the organization
  3. responsible for actively driving team engagement and collaboration, goal setting, performance feedback, and participation in department affordability strategy
  4. managing staff and technical activities, responsible for creating and managing schedules, spending plans, staffing plans, and developing proposals for future work
  5. prepare presentations/reports and routinely present status to senior leadership

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional / Military experience in Engineering OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related professional / Military experience in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years combined experience in any of the following: Flight Test Instrumentation, System Test, Systems Integration, Project Leadership, Hardware Design, Electrical Design
  • Must have an active U.S. government Secret level clearance
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government Top Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain Program Special Access within a reasonable period
