Boeing is seeking an Instrumentation Flight Test Engineer in San Antonio, TX to support their Mobility, Surveillance, & Bomber portfolio products. The role involves test planning, configuration control, test conduct, and data collection/analysis for next-generation aircraft. Responsibilities include collaborating across disciplines, developing test plans, providing engineering definition for configuration changes, architecting/designing/operating test instrumentation, conducting ground and flight testing, and evaluating test results.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborating across a broad spectrum of individuals and disciplines
  2. Developing plans for upcoming testing
  3. Providing engineering definition and authorization for airplane configuration changes
  4. Architecting, designing, maintaining or operating test instrumentation and specialized systems
  5. Conducting ground and flight testing on board the aircraft
  6. Evaluating test results and working to resolve any issues encountered

Skills

Required

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience working with accelerometers, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, force sensors, strain gages, position sensors and flowmeters
  • Experience with calibration methods like regression, polynomial and hysteresis
  • Understanding of mechanical design and the ability to decipher engineering drawings

Nice to have

  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience Instrumenting Military or Commercial Derivative Aircraft
