State Farm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join their expanding Orlando Claim Litigation office. The role involves managing a caseload from inception to conclusion, participating in litigation events, and meeting with clients. Responsibilities include handling various litigation matters, preparing reports, trial strategy, and attending litigation events. Requires a J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School, an active Florida law license, and 3-10 years of civil trial litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.

What you'd actually do

  1. Handles litigation matters including 1st & 3rd party bodily injury cases, non-auto 1st party property cases (roofing and water damage), and other legal assignments in accordance with guidelines established by the Law Department
  2. Prepare and summarize reports for proceedings
  3. Trial strategy and case development
  4. Attends litigation events including trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings

Skills

Required

  • J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School
  • Active law license to practice in the state of Florida
  • Member in good standing with the State Bar of Florida
  • Ability to work efficiently with cases in electronic form
  • Working knowledge of a Case Management system
  • Working Knowledge of a Document Storage system
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting

Nice to have

  • Jury trial experience is a plus
