Internship opportunity for a student engineer at Boeing's Nagoya Research Center, focusing on aerospace R&D, production support, and model-based engineering. The role involves supporting engineering projects, participating in R&D for new materials and processes, and collaborating with global partners.

What you'd actually do

  1. Participate in audit programs to qualify suppliers to engineering requirements and production schedules.
  2. Help ensure materials, processes and equipment readiness for qualification.
  3. Participate in complex root-cause and corrective action activities to ensure manufactured parts and processes meet engineering and regulatory requirements.
  4. Interface with stakeholders in Boeing procurement and quality organizations and Boeing Suppliers to ensure M&P support reflects the requirements of both supply chain and engineering design.
  5. Participate in Research & Development (R&D) projects to develop new and innovative materials and processes that improve production quality, safety, cost, and rate.

Skills

Required

  • Ability to work full-time for 1-2 months during the 2026 calendar year
  • Having authorization to work in Japan (up to 40H/week)
  • Undergraduate student who will graduate between Oct 2026 and Jul 2028 with degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge related to project planning, management and execution.
  • Basic knowledge related to aerospace materials, parts and fabrication processes.
  • Flexibility to learn and work across a variety of aerospace manufacturing technologies and applications
  • Ability to collaborate productively in multidiscipline teaming environments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required

Nice to have

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Japanese preferred
