Internal Communications Manager

Cohere is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to shape how its 500+ employees experience the company's strategy, culture, and momentum. This role will partner with executive teams, HR, and team leads to develop messaging, design internal forums, manage communication channels, and oversee crisis communications. The ideal candidate will have experience in internal communications within a fast-paced tech or AI environment, exceptional writing skills, and strong project management abilities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and implement internal communications strategies that align with the organization's goals and values
  2. Partner with executive teams, human resources, and team leads to develop clear, compelling messaging, materials, and event content around priorities, organizational changes, and business results
  3. Design and execute internal forums like all-team meetings, company-wide offsites, team updates, and news roundups
  4. Co-design principles and practices for how we use internal communications channels and how employees can engage with and share stories across the company
  5. Cultivate and manage channels for timely, relevant information – including Slack, email, blogs, and live formats – and experiment with new ones (video, audio, in-person)

Skills

Required

  • 5-7 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field
  • Exceptional writer with a talent for distilling complex, cross-functional topics into simple, compelling narratives
  • Experience serving as a communications business partner or trusted advisor to senior leaders, executives, and people/human resources teams
  • Highly organized and process-driven, with strong project management skills and a bias for action
  • High levels of creativity to communications – in format, channel, and storytelling
  • Comfortable navigating organizational dynamics and building strong relationships across all levels
  • Experience planning and executing internal events such as all-hands meetings, off-sites, or town halls
  • Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and know how to prioritize ruthlessly
