This role is for an Internal Control Finance Supervisor at Ford Energy, a new subsidiary of Ford Motor Company focused on battery energy storage systems. The primary responsibility is to build and manage the internal control framework from the ground up, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements like Sarbanes-Oxley (S-Ox). The role involves leading a team, identifying control gaps, developing and implementing control strategies, and collaborating with various stakeholders including external auditors.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the team, providing guidance, coaching, development, and management to ensure the team’s success in delivering high-quality internal control services.
  2. Root causing control gaps as you partner with Operations and Finance and leading to brainstorm, develop and execute robust Control Improvement Plans.
  3. Oversee annual controls tests (perform, review, or provide guidance) to ensure a robust control environment.
  4. Develop IT internal control processes in collaboration with the IT team.
  5. Proactively identify potential control gaps, particularly in high-risk areas

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience working with internal control or internal audit.
  • 5+ years of experience with accounting principles, including GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • 5+ years' experience in internal control principles, standards, and best practice

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Business or Accounting
  • Experience with Ford Motor Company’s internal control policy and procedures.
  • Professional credentials – CISA, CRISC, or CIA.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience in supervising and managing a team of professionals, with a focus on excellence, development, and growth.
