This role is for an Inventory Control Specialist at a data center company. The primary responsibilities include tracking hardware assets, managing logistics, conducting audits, and ensuring efficient resource allocation within the data center. It requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and familiarity with inventory management software and Excel. The role is not directly involved in AI/ML development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware and other IT assets within the data center region, including servers, networking equipment, and other hardware and materials.
  2. Coordinate the shipping and receiving of IT materials and ensure their safe storage and distribution within the data center and to other facilities.
  3. Conduct ongoing audits of the asset inventory to verify accuracy and completeness, and make necessary updates to the inventory records.
  4. Collaborate with the operations team to allocate resources efficiently, ensuring that hardware and materials are available when needed and optimizing utilization.
  5. Keep detailed records of inventory, shipments, and audits, and provide regular reports to management.

Skills

Required

  • Proven experience in inventory management or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with asset management software
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
