Investigations Analyst, Child Safety

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Austin, TX +2

This role focuses on investigating and mitigating child safety threats on Meta platforms, leveraging subject matter expertise and analytical skills. While the role requires staying current with AI technologies and integrating AI tools to optimize workflows, its core function is not the direct development or deployment of AI models but rather the application of investigative and analytical expertise to ensure user safety, particularly for minors and vulnerable populations. The role involves analyzing data, identifying threats, and collaborating with various teams to improve detection and mitigation strategies, with a strong emphasis on ethical AI practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Investigate complex cases and conduct deep analysis of potential threats to minors, primarily surrounding child sexual exploitation, that may manifest on Meta technologies
  2. Investigate potential safety issues involving minors and how they impact Meta, our products and our communities, with a focus on understanding how bad actors may try to target minors and vulnerable populations
  3. Independently manage concurrent analyses, prioritizing based on threat severity, impact, and deadlines
  4. Identify sources of abusive behavior, quickly and accurately assessing the credibility of potential threats in order to mitigate risk of harm
  5. Work cross-functionally with other analytic and investigative teams across the company, including collaborating with Policy, Engineering and Integrity partners to improve the detection of behavior that violates our Community Standards
