It Technician

This role is for an IT Technician responsible for advanced technical support across various IT systems and networks, including hardware, software, and network issues. The technician will also assist with network configurations, perform system maintenance, administer Active Directory and Office 365, and mentor junior technicians. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with IT certifications.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and mobile devices
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  3. Assist with network configurations, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  4. Perform routine system maintenance, including software updates, security patches, and backups.
  5. Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, Office 365, and cloud-based services.

Skills

Required

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues
  • Experience with Windows and macOS operating systems, Active Directory, Office 365, and cloud services
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and helpdesk management tools
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

Nice to have

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) or military industry projects
  • Knowledge of autonomous systems or maritime technology
