Journeyman Automotive Mechanic

Journeyman Automotive Mechanic responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers with various propulsion systems (diesel, gasoline, alternative technologies like CNG, LNG, propane, hybrid, and electrical). Requires troubleshooting and maintenance of hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

What you'd actually do

  1. Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
  2. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
  3. Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
  4. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  5. Operates standard and manual transmission

Skills

Required

  • active driver’s license
  • 21 years or older
  • willing to work 6:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. shift, Sunday-Thursday
  • possess the required hand tools
  • Current documented Journeyman Automotive Mechanic experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
  • Hands-on experience with fleet repairs, welding and cutting
  • Experience performing DOT Inspections in trucks
  • Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis
  • Available to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime
  • Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment
  • Communicates effectively
