Journeyman Automotive Mechanic

Seeking a Journeyman Automotive Mechanic to maintain a diverse range of fleet vehicles including diesel, gasoline, and alternative fuel types. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining various systems (brakes, electrical, engine controls), meeting DOT requirements, and operating standard and power tools. Requires a driver's license, CDL A or B, and possession of required hand tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
  2. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
  3. Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
  4. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  5. Operates standard and manual transmission
  6. Operates power and pneumatic tools

Skills

Required

  • active driver’s license issued by the state
  • Class A or B CDL license
  • 21 years or older
  • willing to work an 8am to 5 pm shift, Monday-Friday
  • possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment
  • Current documented Automotive Mechanic experience
  • fleet experience working with gasoline and diesel engines
  • experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
  • Hands-on experience with fleet repairs, welding and cutting

Nice to have

  • alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical
  • troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls
